Conventional Exhaust Bench Fume Hoods

Lab Fabricators’ fume hood superstructures are shipped factory assembled with the light fixture, work surface, service fixtures and electricals installed and tested.

All hoods are available in lengths from 3’-0" to 100’-0" and may be customized to meet each end user’s specific requirements.

The PS- and MS- fume hood superstructures are furnished with:

  • The hood exterior is fabricated of either a special chemical resistant plastic (PS-) or of 18 gauge, zinc-coated and bondarized steel with a chemical resistant enamel (MS-) to match the base cabinet (furnished upon request).
  • The interior of the hood is made of 1/4" thick, special heat, solvent and reagent resistant composition stone that is treated with a chemical resistant, clear vinyl for added protection. Additional hood liners are available upon request, including white modified resin/fiberglass, fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), white polypropylene and stainless steel.
  • The fume hood baffles have two adjustable air flow dampers at the top and bottom for adjustment to light or heavy gases.
  • The interior of the hood is illuminated with a vapor-proof incandescent light fixture for added visibility.
  • A vertically rising front sash has a 1/4" thick, laminated safety glass window that is counter balanced with lead weights for fingertip movement.
  • If the hood is furnished with a blower, the blower can be enclosed within the hood ceiling or shipped separate from the hood superstructure. The blower housing and wheel are coated with a highly chemical resistant epoxy coating for extra protection against corrosion.

Service Fixtures

  • R400V remote control valve assembly with angled serrated hose connection. Specify Index.
  • R410V remote control water faucet with swivel goose and hose connection for use with either cold or hot water. Specify Index.
  • R410V-MIX remote control mixing faucet with swivel gooseneck and hose connection for use with hot and cold water.
  • A variety of deck mounted faucets and turret assemblies.
  • Factory prepipe the service fixtures to either the upper or lower rear of the hood.

Sinks, Cup Sinks

  • Epoxy resin
  • Polypropylene
  • Stainless steel

Electrical Items

  • Duplex or single receptacles. Specify voltage and amperage required.
  • Motor starter switch or on/off switch for exhaust blower. Specify if single or three phase and voltage.

Light Fixtures

  • Two tube fluorescent light fixture (less bulbs).
  • Explosion-proof, 150-300 watt incandescent light fixture (less bulb).

Base Cabinets

  • Standard double cupboard cabinet
  • Acid storage cabinet with composition stone lining. (Vented doors and/or vent assembly to the hood’s work surface are optional.)
  • Solvent storage cabinet. (Vent assembly to the hood’s work surface is optional.)

Safety Guard Low Face Velocity Alarm

  • Complies with OSHA regulations
  • Factory installed and wired
