The Type WSA- and WSA-S walk-in fume hoods are carefully engineered with air foil surfaces curved to the air flow path, thereby creating a smoother air flow pattern that can effectively remove air at a lower face velocity. Thus, less room air is used when compared to a standard or conventional fume hood.

Lab Fabricators’ fume hood superstructures are shipped factory assembled with the light fixture, work surface, service fixtures and electricals installed and tested. All hoods are available in lengths from 3’-0" to 100’-0" and may be customized to meet each user’s specific requirements.

The WSA- and WSA-S walk-in fume hood superstructures are furnished with:

• The hood exterior is fabricated of 18 gauge, zinc-coated and bondarized steel with a chemical resistant enamel to match the base cabinet (furnished upon request).
• The interior of the WSA- hood is made of 1/4" thick, special heat, solvent and reagent resistant composition stone that is treated with a chemical resistant, clear vinyl for added protection. (Additional hood liners are available upon request, including a white modified resin/fiberglass, fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP), and white polypropylene.) The WSA-S hood is furnished with 18 gauge, T304 or T316 stainless steel interior lining, baffles and adjustable dampers in a flat sheet construction. (A seamless welded interior shell is also available upon request.)
• The fume hood baffles have three adjustable air flow dampers at the top, center and bottom for adjustment to light or heavy gases.
• The interior of the hood is illuminated with a vapor-proof incandescent light fixture for added visibility.
• Two vertically rising front sashes are glazed with 1/4" thick, laminated safety glass and counter balanced with lead weights for fingertip movement. Sash stops are available, upon request, to further restrict the face opening of the hood.
• If the hood is furnished with a blower, the blower can be enclosed within the hood ceiling or shipped separate. The blower housing and wheel are coated with a highly chemical resistant epoxy coating for extra protection against corrosion.
